iPhone 7 Plus Home button stops working After installing new parts!
Has anyone had an issues with the Home Button . I Have been doing repairs for a company fo 10 years plus lately and never had an issues like this. I did two iphone this morning . 1 was a charging port replacement. So I removed the screen and set it aside. Worked on getting the old charge port out and installing the new one. Once I got the new one installed. I hooked up the screen . It worked great . As soon as I closed it up I realized the home button had stopped working. I was no where near the home button, so I wasn’t sure what would cause it to stop working. I have never had this issues . Now the iPhone 7 Plus was updated to the newest 12.2 update of ios. I am not sure if Apple is being difficult again and did something in this update that when a third party is in it it stoped working. I even tried a new screen thinking maye the Flex cable the home button plugs into was the issue and still there was no home button functionality . I had to give customer the repair for Free and recomend they take the phone to Apple and get the home button reprogrammed.
2nd iPhone 7 Plus was the same fmaily. I opened it and removed the screen once it was removed I cleaned out the back part of the ear piece because he had issues hearing due to working construction. His phone also was on IOS 12.2 After I Did this and I was no where near the home button. I hooked the phone back up and once again no home button worked.
I have down a bunch of iPhone 7 PLus’s this week and not once have I had this issue until today. Anyone know if apple release something in the new update for third part repairs that it bricks the home button. I know they have done this type of things before. I have no idea if they did this again. Looking for help. I would hate to stop doing repairs on the iPhone 7 Plus if this is going to happen everytime, but I don’t want this to happen to my awesome customers who always come here because I am the best Tech around here and we have the best record on repairs compared to the few Shady places near by. I have been fixing devices for over 10 years now and I am stumped why two in a row did the same thing. Makes me wonder if Apple is behind this! Help
