This board is from an se I have and I wanted to replace the broken parts that you see on the picture, I have another se board that’s exactly the same. Can I desoder the parts from that board and soder them back on to my se board. I’m still new at soldering but I’m planning on using mini soldering tweezers. Any advice would be much appreciated.

That is probably not a great plan—for now. Here’s why:
# If the board you intend to fix that is missing that row of caps doesn’t have anything else wrong with it, then it will likely boot right now without them. If it doesn’t, then you have bigger fish to fry.
# Mini soldering tweezers are not the right tool for the job because of the tight clearance. You’d end up making a bunch of solder bridges. A tool small enough to actually fit between the components would not be able to deliver enough heat to melt ground pads—-a catch 22
Microsoldering is really fun, I hope you give it a try. But this isn’t the project you want to start with.

@jessabethany Boy do I need one of those Magic 8 balls! Do they make one for diagnosing Macs? Looks like Apple knows what a subversive you are to their infinite wisdom on data recovery. Keep up the good work ;-)

Thank you for the reply I took your advice and didn’t touch the board. I’ll probably just use it for practicing instead of trying to fix it. The board doesn’t boot up at all so once I read your advice I figured it was too much to invest in then just buying a new one. Thanks again
