The port on my Ti-83 plus silver edition won't work

I am getting annoyed by this problem so much I might get a new calcuator.

Although I suspect something more serious is going on, have you tried looking into the port to see if there's gunk or something stuck in there? Normally gunk can make the calculator act funny though but it's a good place to start. Have you been able to get any connection between your calculator and your computer or your calculator and another calculator by finagling with the cable lead on your link port?
