Preguntas 1199 Ver todo

Is Face ID linked to the motherboard in any way?

So I came across an iPhone X that I just bought, that has every part but the motherboard.

Knowing that TouchID couldn’t be really changed without changing a lot of parts on the older iPhones, my question is, is it the same for Face ID?

I read that it’s linked to the camera, but it wasn’t clear enough for me and people are currently selling motherboards with FaceID so I really don’t know haha.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this question has already been posted, I couldn’t find an answer that suits me!

The newer iPhones only have FaceID and its very much tied to the logic board like TouchID was. Both the detector and logic board are paired.

I hope you didn’t spend too much as this is not something you can recover a working phone without spending quite a bit. Very odd to find someone made the effort to pull the board to only sell the phone carcass.

Its more useful for its parts.

Okay, I see. It makes more sense now. I think I’ll just try to buy another broken phone to get the motherboard and Face ID or buy the parts on a chinese website. Thanks a lot!
