iPhone 7 wont turn on after battery and screen replacement

Hi,

I am in the process of replacing a screen and a battery on an iPhone 7.

I have installed both (but not applied either adhesive yet) and it will not turn on… I have plugged it in and it has been charging for about 10 minutes but still nothing… I tried plugging it into my mac but got no response… I then tried to reset the phone (holding volume and power buttons) and it came up on itunes saying that there is a problem with this phone and that it needs to be restored to fix it…

Shall I get my friend’s icloud details and do so?

What else can I try?

Just to add - the owner of the phone did say that the phone would just randomly die and that was the reason for the battery replacement...

Update: I have plugged the old screen in... it didnt turn on straight away but when I plugged it in to the charger it turned on... and when I disconnected the charger it remained on

possibly a faulty screen shorting something

Another update... so old screen worked so I started reassembling the phone but then once I had put the battery bracket on the phone would get stuck on a boot loop... had me extremely worried! I had a thought that something was shorting (I had tested the earpiece and the home button so couldnt be those interfering) and remembered that there was not a foam pad on the new battery connector... I swapped that over and now it seems to work perfectly with the old screen... new screen is in the post already so hopefully that fixes that problem!

You may have replaced some screws in the wrong places. The screws holding down the shield plate for the screen plug ins need to be put in the exact place they came out as they are different sizes. If you put them in the wrong place, you can break the logic board, which could lead to the problems you are having.

As far as I am aware they are in the correct position... I believe the screen was faulty (that’s what the company who sold me the screen said) - the original screen works still!
