Can I unbrick my 3DS XL?

Two years ago, I tried to install something on my 3DS because I got a game from a friend that wasn’t compatible with my console. I found this guide https://3ds.hacks.guide/ and while following it, my 3DS stopped working. When I try turning it on, the screen stays black, but the blue light flashes once for like a second . I made some researches and it turned out that I apparently bricked my console? I was only 16 when I did this and was just so desperate to play Tomodachi life I had got from my friend, I didn’t really know what I was doing. I’m not really an expert at modding and such things, but I would really be happy if I could get my console to work again.

I dindn’t make a back up and I used the SD card that was in the 3DS when I got it which might also not have been the best move? Is there any hope left for my nintendo?

I got a similar problem when the screen was bent too far backwards, and cannot get the system open because the screws are stripped. The console turns on for about three seconds, then shuts down. Activating a calibration function makes it stay on for about a half-second more. The system only stopped working after the lid was closed.

I wiped the sd card years ago thinking I could never get it back. What do I do?

@atrixsocialrbx follow the steps in my answer

Yea just buy boot.firm from the luma file and place it onto the main page of the sd card.

I know I am like a year late but to anyone having this issue: You need to download the latest version of Luma3DS and extract it to the root of your sd card. Make sure the boot.firm is on the root. Replace any files if it asks to.

@Anthony Gomez did you find a solution?

Just put the sd card back into the system, it should boot

What if this doesn't work either

Try removing everything in the "sd://luma" folder and then getting the latest "arm9loaderhax.bin". Then boot into the config menu.

Try Holding L, R, A, and Up (on the directional pad, not the circle pad), then performing a system update. This fixed a “soft-bricked” 3DS. If this does not work, you may have to insert the SD card into a computer and perform a specific procedure for “hard-bricked” 3DS consoles. I found this on YouTube long ago. If you wish, you may click here for a video clip I have found, but not yet reviewed due to it being blocked.

This is a problem with CFW, not his 3ds. He doesn't have a hard brick or soft bricked console. He just forgot some files on his SD card lol

@johnodon Not to be rude, but he claimed that he forgot to back up his files, not that he forgot any. He may get a fix for this, but it is the best answer that I can give. The update may fix the firmware issue. Thanks for the comment!

@michaeld2 Not to be rude, but my answer linked him all the files he needed, which were listed on the guide.

@johnodon Your answer may be more helpful than mine. I am thankful for your contribution.
