I dropped my phone in my pool and immediately took it out and it was still working perfectly fine. Then I put my phone on charge at least 50 minutes after and it appeared to start to shutdown and start up. Eventually I left it on charge from 35% to 95% and after that when I turn it on it loads of the mi logo but as soon as the powered by android text appears the screen goes black.

Chlorine or salt water? Both are packed with corrosive minerals and such, which eat away at the phone even when it’s dried.
You’ll need to tear the phone down and at least clean the motherboard with 99% isopropyl
use a soft toothbrush
clean the LCD connector and anywhere you see corrosion on a PCB

Open your device as soon as you can, take out the battery, and get scrubbing. Submerge the whole motherboard in alcohol, and scrub away.”
I realize that this post is old. But I will give my 2 cents for the next reader.
Turning the phone on, or connecting it to power will increase the chance of shorting out the electronic components.

Thanks, for completely changing my mind. No doubt alcohol is a million times better than rice.
