My iPhone fell of a shelf and bent

Block Image

Hi, I have an iphone 7 that fell of a shelf, the result is that the screen is broken but also the back housing of the phone is bent on the side of the lock button, is there any risk of something not working on the inside of the phone? The phone turns on but the touch screen is not working I just see some parts on the home screen.

Obviously, the screen will need to be replaced. As for the housing, my concern would be if it is applying any pressure against the logic board.

You can always try and straighten out the housing but to do this properly, you have to remove the innards so that nothing gets damaged or flexed while you bend the housing into shape. The aluminum is soft so be wary of it breaking. One alternative is to get a housing from a used device or order an aftermarket housing (they are not all good though)

And what can I use to straighten it back to it’s original shape?

@diy_ You can buy a soft rubber hammer, use a flat stiff surface to compare flatness and use lots of care. However iPhone case resistance to bending won't be as good as before. Flexing of the board might also lead to issues with time, but crossing fingers is all one can do to prevent that if microdamages are there already. Judging by the picture you enclosed there's quite a bit of bending unfortunately.
