Why is my AC/Heat fan only operate on speeds 3 & 4 but only for 30 sec

My AC/Heater fan in my 2009 Ford F-150 crew cab pickup does not blow air when the fan speed is set to 1 or 2. It only blows air for 30 seconds when the fan speed is set to 3 or 4 then is slowly blows less and less until it stops. If I turn the power off and wait for a few minutes it will begin to blow again, but only for 30 sec on speeds 3 or 4. The air is hot or cold. When it is blowing it is at normal volume until it begins to slow down and eventually stops. This problem started months ago and has gradually gotten worse with time. For example, when it first began, only speed control #1 didn’t work and then #2 stopped working and the length of time it would blow air has gradually decreased with time. I have replaced the relay switch and fuses and this did not correct the problem.

Mr. Churchill, your problem is likely the blower motor resister. This accessible on your truck through the glove box and should be held in place by 2 screws. Additionally, a bad switch or faulty wiring/connectors could cause similar issues. Let me know if you have any further questions and good luck with your repair!

Thanks, Travis, I replaced the Blower Motor Resistor today, easy job, but it did not fix the problem. For what I have seached out online, I think my next step would be to replace the Blower/Heater Control switch behind the Fan Control Knob in the dash. I don't think it is the actual Fan Blower because air does blow for 30 sec at full speed, then dies because something is heating up. Is this what you are referring to as the "switch" in your first answer to my posted question? If so, are you aware of any good Youtube videos that show me how to get the central dash panel off so I can get behind these control knobs and replace this control switch?

Typically all of the fan speeds are routed through the resistor minus the highest speed, which runs through a separate relay that supplies direct battery voltage to the motor. Since yours doesn't run consistently in any of the speeds, I would suspect either the switch, a poor connection/fault in the wiring, or the blower motor. You're right that typically the fact the blower works at all would rule that out, but If there is high resistance in the blower motor itself that will cause excess heat which further increases the resistance in the circuit. I didn't find any YouTube videos, but typically that switch is part of the Control Head and is replaced as a single unit. I would try the blower motor first since it would be a little easier to replace and cheaper. Let me know what you end up doing!

Today I went and talked to my local auto parts store and purchased an AC/Heat Blower Control Switch. The guys in the store agreed this would be the next step since the Resistor did not fix the problem. But, once I removed the dash panels and fan and temperature controls, my vehicle does not have this Switch. When I returned the item and brought the fan and temperature control portion of the unit into them to see what I was missing, they all agreed they had never seen one like mine. It appears to me the whole control center has to be replaced. I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this same thing? It's an expensive part, $600, so I'm wanting to confirm what I'm thinking. If it does need to be replaced as a whole unit, then I'm hoping my local junkyard will have a used one. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Travis, when I posted my last update, 9 minutes ago, your reply from 3 hours ago popped up. Thanks. I will replace the blower motor first and before looking for a whole control head. I'm still confused as to where the AC/Heat Blower Control Switch the auto parts store shows belongs in my truck, is installed. Here's a link to the part https://www.autozone.com/cooling-heating... - Are you familiar with this part and where it is in the pickup?
