My Maytag washing machine Bravo MVWX500BW, takes 3 hours to finish at “soil level” set to “extra heavy” and “extra rinse” on.
Should I select “medium” soil level? The load is big, but it is not too dirty.
No errors when I run diagnostic.

Try cleaning out the barrel of the washer incase there is any dirt or grime stuck.

How do you do that? Is it by running "Clean Washer with affresh".
Try that and if it doesn't fix it try taking the whole barrel out to get a deeper clean.

Yes you should choose a medium soil level even if the load is big though it is very dirty, but if you do not meet the purpose you have to take a full barrel selection for a faster time, good cleaning and wonderful cleaning

I will try that next time, I know when I set it to "Light Soil Level" the cycle is usually 45 minutes for small load. Spending four hours for washing is really ridiculous.

Is the extended time connect to how long it takes to fill?

I will time it next time I will do the wash, I don't think the filling is the issue.

HELP! Joe, I have the same problem! What happened to Maytag?.. I have been unable to find a reason/fix for this problem and I am sorely disappointed that I am expected to pay for a Maytag tech yo respond to me. My washer/dryer came with our new house and I have devoted way too much time trying to figure ou what I can do to have a properly functioning machine. I always thought Maytag appliances were super reliable but no longer believe that.
so…here I am listening to this d*%#&-% machine washing a load over sand over and over and over…..
