iMac only boots with display disconnected from power supply
So recently i have been having a start up issue on my iMac. It boots up but when the chime is made it shuts off and is only able to be rebooted after main power is disconnected only to do the same thing once re booted again. I’ve done some digging and I am noticing that when the display is disconnected from the power supply it boots up and chime sounds full and I can hear fans and harddrive working. Is this a symptom of a failing power supply.

When you say its working without the display connected are you able to see the desktop using an external display?

Dan, yes I was able to connect it to a tv as a display and it worked.
