Changing logic board from different carriers

I recently tried to replace the back of my phone with a 3rd party shell. I lost a piece to the lock button and it doesn’t work anymore. When i finished, my home button stopped working even though i didn’t mess with it. Also there is no sound and no Taptic feedback anywhere on the phone. For this reason i want to buy a phone of the same model and switch out the logic board. My only question is, i use tmobile, the phone i found is sprint. Will my board accept the new antenna or will there be problems with it?

It has nothing to do with “antennas”, it’s all at the logic board level and the different IC’s used to connect to different frequency ranges. I’m not an expert on what frequencies the various US carriers use ( I believe Verizon is the outlier) but if you want to replace the logic board, finding one that uses the same carrier is the preferable approach.

However, before doing that, why don’t you trackback and check your work, you may have made a few small errors or caused damage along the way. It’s cheaper to replace a broken flex or taptic engine than buy a logic board.

Yeah, it’s all complicated.

I actually did end up backtracking a bit. I realized since the front camera, phone speaker and home button were all acting up, and that i never even removed those, that it must be a connection. I opened it back up and sure enough, i had put the top display ribbon upside down. As soon as i fixed it and rebooted, it all worked. Just need to find a power button bracket replacement still

Hi!

Yes it does!

though its a different antena it fits!. But only one small problem. if you use a antena that is lock with sprint it wouldnt work.

Hope This Helps!

Yeah, id assume the harware fits. Its the software that im concerned about. I know different cell carriers operate at different frequencies, just wondering if that information is stored in the antena or the logic board
