Can you change a logic board on a 15" 2017 MacBook Pro

Hello,

I have a 15” 2017 MacBook Pro and was wondering on the likelihood of updating the logic board really I am really looking for the hexacore CPU and 32GB of ram..!

I have just purchased the 13” 2018 MacBook Pro (maxed out, but for the SSD) and this appears to leave my equally maxed out 2017 15” MacBook Pro in the distance in regard to speed. thanks

is this something an authorised dealer would offer..?

These machines are just not upgradable after purchase. You would do best to sell this one and order a new one with as much storage and RAM as it will take. Even finding a new part would probably cost as much as the whole new machine.

I agree with @mayer - You need to sell and rebuy as you really can't upgrade these systems. In addition the parts will be at least a year or more before you can get them.

I would recommend you stick with the i7 models as the i9 is thermally throttled and not worth the premium.

@mayer @danj Thanks for your answers, its really for the i7 Hexacore, as I am finding myself using the 13" as the keyboard really feels much better than the 2016/2017 models and the machine just feels more responsive. thanks again
