Loud speaker sounds crackly/distorted after screen replacement.

I replaced an iPhone 6s plus screen for a friend and the loud speakers sounds distorted.

First thing to do would be to make sure the charging port is seated properly at the connector, as this could have been nudged when disconnecting the battery also check that the speaker itself is sitting properly above the contact points on the charge port flex. After that, the next step would be to try with a known working loudspeaker. This seems like a strange problem to have after a screen replacement, since the loud speaker doesn’t really get touched during that repair. Thankfully if the speaker somehow got fried, that part is usually under $5

Oh, make absolutely sure that there aren’t any screws floating around in the phone.

Come to think of it, I did see this happen once when a phone got closed with a screw stuck to the speaker magnet.

yeah the screw trapped inside was my first thought but there's nothing stuck inside and everything seated properly, i guess it might just need a new speaker
