turns off and starts up all the time
My screen flickers and then shuts off and starts up again, this happens every 5 minutes

Is it a consistently every 5 minutes exactly?
Have you tried to do a restore?

If there are no other symptoms and if it did not get damaged or if you have not done any recent updates etc. think about replacing the Battery. Of course that only after you have done the restore already.

Its either:
-Battery (test with a multimeter) also check terminals etc OR
-Logic board seating - make sure it is sitting down correctly
9/10 it is a dead battery on these older phones
