New iPhone 5s can’t get signal

I’ve recently received a supposedly new iPhone 5s which has been presenting with a strange problem. Upon a complete restore the device gets signal and is able to call and send messagens, however after some minutes, even without using it, it loses signal and either shows ‘Searching’ or ‘No Signal’. This happens always, and the only time it works is for a short period after a restore. Removing the SIM card, Turning on/off the device, turn on/off automatic clock sync, turning on/off automatic carrier choice, reseting APN settings, updating iOS,... nothing seems to work. This puzzles me as the fact that it works perfectly fine for a few minutes after a restore makes it seem like a software problem, but the fact that regardless of the multiple complete restores it always ends up losing signal after a few minutes makes it look like a hardware problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated,
