iPhone 6 not restoring - screen replacement

Hi.

I bought a broken iPhone 6 back in January.

The guy who owned it said it has a broken LCD after it fell on the floor, it hit the left chassis as seen in the photo and the glass near the front camera is chipped. The LCD was then showing some white stripes, and he tried to update the iOS to "solve" the problem and it was on a reboot loop.

Supposedly, the update was successful but it fails to start for the first configuration. It was also supposed to be working fine before it was dropped.

He has replaced the battery but it is still stuck in a boot loop but he has not replaced the screen. The phone has not come in contact with water.

I also asked if he has tried using DFU mode and he said he hasn't tried.

When it arrived, it was discharged so I charged it up and I believe I put it in DFU and restored it (it was a while ago) and it booted fine. I set up the phone but the touch did not work on the parts where there are the lines and half of the screen. So I reseated the display cables and the touch didnt work only on the lines.

I left the phone for a few months and recently replaced the screen. I tested it before putting the brackets and it worked fine! So I turned it off and put the brackets back on. When I booted it up again, it was boot looping and gradually getting warm on the lower part of the housing. I kept trying to restart it and it eventually ran out of charge. I connected it to the charger and it was booting correctly after a few tries. It boot looped a few times and after restarting it it would boot but sometimes turn off randomly and be in a boot loop again. It was basically cycling between having no battery, being in a boot loop and sometimes after force restarting it would turn on for a bit. When it turned on it was usable but it turned off after a bit.

Thinking the battery was not calibrated properly, I let it discharge and let it charge fully while off. After doing that, it only boot looped to infinity and maybe once it booted up correctly but turned off again. I had to leave it to discharge on its own.

Today I tried putting it into DFU mode and restoring it, I got error 9 and the progress bar stuck halfway. I also tried restoring it on 3utools and at one point the progress bar did go further than 75% but it did not complete.

What do you think the problem is?

Hi I would open it up and disconnect the proxy ribbon and try restoring it again in dfu mode. If you haven't replaced the screen already I would do that as well.
