Touch ID stop working

Yesterday I replaced the charging port and also the screen. before changing the screen i tested the phone out with another old screen. This screen had a different touch ID. Then I swapped back in the original plate with the original home button cable on it, and the touch id didn't work anymore. Could affected this test with a different touch id? I dont know how to do to fix it?

The home button seems to function as normal, just the touch id is not working and will not let i turn it back on.

The touch id worked right before changed out the screen.

I already restored the iphone however it didnt work. I have another old iphone 6 with touch ID as I mentioned before.

Thank you¡

Well, I am not able to figure it out. I can not understand what happend with the Touch ID. The home button is still running good. I bought a new flex LCD home button to try it out. But i dont have too much hope

Here a picture of the HOME button (NEW) and the HOME button of my older iphone 6 water damaged.

Do you see any trouble with it? (New one)

The problem was since i connected the older iphone 6 LCD with the older Home button in my new Iphone 6...I just wanted to check that the LCD worked nice, i knew that a different home button doesnt work with a different motherboard.. after that that message comes up everytime with the original home button..

It makes me very angry...

Thanks a lot @benjamen50

I tried connecting the other flex plate but it didn't work neither. The home button runs nicely but the touch ID can't not be activated. Is there any way to check if the touch ID is damaged?

I bought a new one flex plate because the second iphone is dead by water, so maybe the plate is damaged too..

Any suggestion?

Touch ID not working usually is caused by a tear on the home button cable coming from the home button itself.

Sometimes the damage is hard to spot without looking under a microscope.

You may be lucky to get it working again via restoring the phone. In rare cases they just may stop working after opening up the phone but then work again after restoring.

Backup the phone before restoring if needed because it wipes all data on the phone.

Maybe the home button extension cable metal plate got damaged when removed from the old screen.

The plate doesn't need to be the same one that came with the phone as they are not paired with the phone so try the other one as it might be just that being faulty.
