Water Damage and Warranty questions?

Hello everyone, so today my I phone 7 plus got water damaged and there was condensation on the camera lens in the back, plus it would not turn on. Since I bought it second hand I didn't think the warranty would be there so I decided to crack it open and see if I can dry it out. However while doing so, the screen flex cable ripped. I later discovered that My phone is still under warranty and I have no Idea what to do. Should I replace the lcd and the seals, or just reseal the iphone with new seals and send it in for repairs? Please help.

hi

water damage voids any apple warranty, And most of iphones have water indicator inside that turn red when touched by liquid. You will not be able to fool apple staff. If your device is not attached to an Icloud account, then they will propose you an exchange for a fix fee.

Sounds like you may just want to be honest with them. I wouldn't do anything to replace the phone parts yet because the parts you may acquire from any site will not be OEM. This link here tells you everything about their warranties offered.

Scroll down to the "Important Restriction For Service" section.

Hello there fella, my iPhone X also got water damage and I believe your best bet to save your phone is by opening the sim either for 2 days straight, or every night for about a week or two. Also in my opinion you should just buy a new lcd and seals, fix it yourself which shouldn’t be that hard, and I hope your phone works! Btw if you see corrosion in your phone just turn it off and soak it in 97-99% alcohol for a day or two which you can get from a local pharmacy such as cvs. That should remove all corrosion. After that let it dry out completely before powering it on. I hope this helps!
