Unable to sync iPod classic 120GB.

Following error messages when trying to sync from iTunes I have reset and then as this did not resolve the problem restored the iPod to factory settings. When I now try to sync I have the message sync complete but nothing has been copied over from iTunes and I have nothing on my iPod.
