My console will not display video

I'm assuming it turns on fully and the light on the front of the console stays on. There are 3 things that most often cause this problem but first be sure to check the HDMI cable.

1) HDMI port. Shine a flashlight in the HDMI port and see if you see anything bent or if the port is off center or anything.

2) Hard drive. One Xbox One consoles if the hard drive is faulty it will actually not show a display on the screen many times. Listen to see if you hear any clicking or strange noises coming from the hard drive area.

3) HDMI chip. There is an ic on the motherboard that is part of the HDMI system. While this chip does not go bad often it does and can happen.
