Beats studio wireless can charge, but no lights indicate battery level

So when I charge my Beats studio wireless they give no indication of charging. They do charge, but i must turn them on to see battery level. The lights use to light up to show progress of charging, but now it does not. The charging port has become loose, and I need to set it at angle at time to charge. The headphones work completely fine, and resetting them does not solve the issue. Can this charging problem be the charging port hardware?
