Callers can not hear me. Can not hear keypad tones, incoming call tones or new email tones. The settings are on and the volume is up all the way. I can listen to music and hear the ring and alart tones in the setting mode only. Can a bad Mic. cause all these problems?
i did an on-off, restart and reset with no change?

strange. a bad microphone might explain why other can't hear you, but that doesn't explain why you can't hear certain tones but can hear music or tones in settings - a bad speaker is unlikely due to those conflicting facts - I assume the music/tones you *can* hear are coming through the speaker? or do you mean you can only hear them through the earphones?
have you tried restoring your iPhone ? - to make sure your phone's firmware isn't somehow corrupted and causing you trouble.
