Not charging when plugged in after rebuild

My iPhone 5S isn't charging after putting it back together.

I've got two iPhones with this problem now, plugging them into the wall and they don't charge. The power reaches the phone, but it does NOT charge the battery, staying on the same % indefinitely.

What's the fix? What have I done wrong?

With my main phone, the temporary fix is hitting the bottom with my palm, then poof, magically charges again.. doesn't make sense.

Erm, I unplugged and reseated, it charged from 3% to 41%, seems it doesn't update the % now which is weird too..

Were you trying to repair specific problems or where you just taking them apart for fun (and practice) :>)?

If there was a specific problem, please let us know as that might give us a clue as to the root of your issue. You say the power is reaching the phone...are you using a USB Ammeter to determine this? This is fake charging and this could be caused by a damaged Tristar IC or by a missing or partially dislodged FL11 near the battery connector.

You should also double check the Lightning connector, especially if you removed it completely. It may have been damaged in the process.

Old 5S was smashed, entire house was ruined, bent, and in pieces..

Had a 16GB model but the 64GB motherboard survived, took out 16GB MOBO, replaced with 64bit, all works 100% fine except charging, seems to be my issue always.

It seems it's charging the battery, though the % isn't moving which is weird. Updates when rebooting the iPhone. So I guess this is a DIFFERENT problem to my prior iPhone where I need to tap it to make it charge. This one charges, just reports an incorrect percentile.

I can't tell for sure exactly what's going on, I need to jailbreak it first to get better info from low-level.
