What is wrong with the YouTube app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A?

This just started happening today. When I try to go to my channel page on my YouTube app, it suddenly stops loading and says 'error'. My wifi's working perfectly, and everything else loads fine. It's just when I try to go to my channel page that it doesn't load.

Another thing that's been happening for the last few weeks or so is that the YouTube app itself has been crashing (that is, unexpectedly closing by itself) more often than usual, and when I'm scrolling through the comments section of any video, it kinda lags.

Do I have to uninstall and reinstall the YouTube app? If so, what happens to my channel notifications?

What's going on?
