Front Camera and Proximity Sensor don't work after screen replacement

I tried reseating the cable. I tried a new cable. The camera and sensor are not being blocked by the screen, I make sure they can be seen through the holes. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here? Also the earpiece speaker does work fine using both cables I have.

If I understand correctly, you bought a replacement screen that has a Front Camera flex pre-installed. It didn't work so you tried to use your original flex as well, which also doesn't work (minus the ear speaker).

If the original front camera flex worked before the repair, then the common denominator here is the the connector on the logic board (or the logic board itself). Mind you, the iPhone 7 is finicky and requires everything to be connected before powering it on. You may want to disconnect the battery, then disconnect all of the flexes and start again, adding the battery at the end of the process. You could also try a hard reset of the device to see if that helps. While your doing this, a close inspection of the connector and logic board, preferably under magnification, is highly encouraged.

Cable didn't come with new screen. I took it off the old cracked screen where it was working fine. When it didn't work on the new screen I bought another cable and same problem. The earpiece working does mean these cables are at least making contact with the motherboard right?

Well at least the earpiece contacts are. Listen, with two flexes showing the same symptoms, the problem is on the board somewhere. Double check how you're connecting the flex and then inspect the connector.

Interesting...

Could be a couple things. Do you still have the old screen? If you do, I would see if it has the same issue when installed in the previous screen. Not much else it could be aside from the LCD or a software issue. Since you've tried a new cable and it has the same issue that's likely not the problem.
