Why won’t my 3DS turn on?

I had this problem a few months ago where my 3DS just stopped, the light wouldn’t go on when I was trying to charge and it just didn’t work, I replaced the battery and it was working since. A few months later and now I’m having the same problem again, is there any chance that I can save money and not have to replace the battery again.
