Broken gaming head set

I have a decent gaming head set from the Walmart near my home and recently the microphones wiring that connected it to the actual head phones got pulled out of place ,(not disconnected just pulled outward) and it doesn’t work any more I’m not sure how to fix it but I’d rather not throw them away due to how much a replacement would cost IE about 50$
