Cameron, I appreciate ur response as regard the cycle of the water system, thus, it directs my mind to asking the question of what would be causing the overheating in my Honda Accord 2002 4plug, and when the system is heated up, the large hose that at the top of the radiator that connects the engine become extremely hot and even swells like it wants to burst. Thus top gasket get burnt. This has happened to me twice within a space of 2 days.

Hi Olayinka, I think my original solution to the earlier post may be relevant to your issue as well. If your water thermostat has failed in the shut position then the hot water cannot circulate round the cooling radiator to lose its excess heat. Therefore your top hose is overheating and will swell up. Ask your mechanic to check the thermostat, it is not an expensive component and not a complex repair. If the top hose has been stressed and swollen then replace it at the same time as the consequences of hose failure (bursting) can be serious and expensive. In a 10 YO car, probably best to clean the system, check for leaks and replace any worn components, don't forget the radiator coolant pressure cap too.
