battery percentage dropping, from 50 to 1

Hi all,

Quick question :

i have an iphone 6s.

battery is sometimes going from 60 or 50 procent to 1 procent.. the 1 procent can bee for several hours..

sometimes i don't have this problem .. strange..

I measured out the battery and that was good. I checked the life of the battery and still above the 90 procent , ( what i figured after the measurement)

what could it be? the IOS 10- 11 "bug" draining the battery or giving faults ?

TIGRIS or TRISTAR?? could that be a possibility ?

what would i do? : hard rest to reset the battery?

Thanks in advance

I think you are on the right track with thinking U2. Check the charging circuit to see if you are experiencing :Ghost charging" (Fake charging)

Hi,

Now i did a hard reset ( + a software update to IOS 11.2.1 ) and fully charged the phone, i'm trying him out.. and he is working ( discharging) fine... so far..

but : if i check the amperage when charging i see the amperage going from 0.33 tot 1.2 ( continously between those amperages.. ) ...

- de

I will try to drain the battery now and charge him again..

battery was empty, the discharging was normal. when i plugged the phone in to charge : it started to charge but the amperage range was between 0.33 and 1.06 amp. after a minute of 3 the amperage was continiously on 0.93 amp.. the fluctuating amperage is not normal i think... and it's not all the time...

any suggestions ?

Here's a good thing to check. Make sure to check and see if your iPhone 6s is affected by the battery recall, because that symptom matches completely to the recall. I've attached a link where you can punch in your SN and see. Also, if not affected I recommend downloading coconutBattery and seeing what it says about the number of loadcycles and life remaining. Let me know what happens!

Have iPhone 6S doing the exact same thing, however I have had the battery changed by Apple a while ago with the recall… I went to apple and they thought it was a software issue (want me to wipe phone & see if it still happens) … funny it’s only started happening after recently updating iOS, currently on 12.3.1… note: it can be showing 1%, reboot it’s back to showing correctly (30% to 50%)… dodgy iOS on on this version phone

It's a bad battery. There's nothing else to it as I do battery replacements on these phones daily on latest iOS version.

If the replacement battery was working for a while then it happened again it's a bad battery.
