Too later for you.
But I have the same problem, this is what I have learnt
-
First if you have a brake fluid Leak, then you are about to loose all your brakes!
So first check you don't have a leak from any of your cars brake lines or the brake cylinders.
-
Before replacing parts check the brakes on all the wheels are functioning correctly.
No stuck or worn out pads, callipers or brake cylinders.
Spongy Brakes could be Air in the Brake Lines, so you need to flush all your brake lines.
Nearly all vehicles now have ABS. These may need special equipment get any trapped air out of them!
Only use new Brake fluid as old Brake fluid can absorb water.
Worn-Out Master Cylinder? A leak in the cylinder seals will reduce the brake fluid pressure resulting in spongy brakes.
Normally if your brake booster fails, your brake pedal becomes extremely hard to press, requiring significant force to slow down.
You may sometimes notice the engine to stall out as you depress the brake pedal.
Issues With the ABS Modulator, a malfunctioning valve in the ABS can also cause spongy brakes.

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder? You must get the air out of there first.
You will then need to bleed the whole system. "Cracking" brake lines will not remove the air. You must force the air out thru bleed screws.
Check online for proper brake bleeding procedure for your vehicle.
A service manual would be a good investment, or download from the internet.
