Please give the last three letters of your serial number so we can tell exactly which machine you have and give you directions to the correct part and guide.
The inverter cable is not the same in all ibook G4 models that's why mayer wants your machine serial number. Is it a 12" or 14" model and what's the processor speed (800mhz, 1ghz/1,25ghz/1,33ghz/1.42ghz) ?

Thanks for responding. I am having a challenge getting the keyboard to come off to get serial number. When I get it, I will send the last three letters of the serial number.

Thanks for the answer. Finally got the keyboard off.
It is an iBook G4.
Last four letters of iBOOK number is: BT/LL This is the number on the left side below the ethernet ID. The number that stand alone to the right side ends with S87.
Same symptoms continue.
