Can phantom power affect a tablet hooked up to a mixer? 3.5mm > XLR

Tablet was connected from the tab's headphone jack to XLR input on a mixer and somebody turned on the phantom power. Now there is no sound except when connected through bluetooth.

If I had to guess, the extra voltage has fried a sound IC but.... where do I start diagnosing /testing for something like that? And whatever else it could possibly be?
