Touch screen unresponsive after screen replacement

My iPhone 6Plus' screen broke a while ago and I replaced it with a cheap screen I found online (probably shouldn't have). Anyways, it worked fine for a while, but then started getting random issues with the touch screen. It started not responding to my touches. Now it is pretty much unresponsive.

I managed to fix it temporarily by disconnecting and reconnecting all the screen connectors. It then worked for a day, or maybe a few hours, before slowly returning to the unresponsive state.

Should I try to buy a more expensive screen replacement, or does it sound like the phone it self is broke?

All ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks :)

The fact that you bought a cheap screen certainly raises red flags. However, the iPhone 6 Plus is prone to developing Touch Disease. One of the common symptoms of Touch Disease is a grey bar at the top of the screen but not every phone develops that. You can access an article I wrote on this by going to my profile for the link. There is also lot's of info on the web.

Do you still have your original, cracked screen? If you do, then I would recommend you try re-installing it to see if the issue goes away. That would confirm that your replacement screen is bad. Otherwise, you only option is to try a new replacement screen, this time of better quality. You can get a good quality screen here and the replacement guide here.

Touch Disease requires a micro-soldering repair and is not a DIY fix.

I do not have the original, but someone I know has a broken iPhone 6 plus (but not the screen), so I will try their screen and see if the issue persists. If it does, then I know I have "Touch Disease".

However, I do not have that grey line or any other visual signs of a broken screen. I'm just confused, since reconnecting the screen worked for a bit.
