iPhone wouldn't connect to Wifi, Apple ID and now isn't turning on?

Yesterday my iPhone became really slow - I tried increasing storage etc. and still slow. I restarted but my phone stopped connecting to the wifi. When I try to connect it told me the password is 'incorrect', but it's not. My MacBook and housemates phones are still connected to the wifi using the same password. Then my phone kept asking me to sign up to my Apple ID, which I did, but ten seconds later it would ask again. I then reset my network settings, following Apple advise but the phone remained slow, and with the above problems. My iCloud photos aren't working, and neither is my email. Today I tried a forced restart again, and now my phone won't even turn on. The apple logo appears for a bit but then the phone turns off again. I'm at my wits end and the phone is out of warranty so I don't want to have to take it to an apple shop and pay for a software problem that I couldn't have stopped. There is a software update available (or there was until my phone stopped turning on), but I couldn't update because overtime I did it said there was an error. Any ideas?

Solución Elegida

Thanks for the good write-up. I think you should also give us more info on the phones history before this started happening. Was it dropped recently or did it come into contact with water? Was it previously repaired?

One thing you should check is to see if your phone is elegible for the Apple iPhone 6S Unexpected Shutdown Recall. If your eligible, you may get a replacement phone.

Now in the meantime, this does not sound like a software problem but more like a degenerative hardware problem (hence my question about water). It doesn't take much water or too many drops on the floor to cause problems over time. If you connect it to an iTunes enabled computer, is it recognized? That would at least tel you the phone is alive but not displaying. If it is not recognized, then it would help to determine if it is even trying to charge. If you have access to a USB Ammeter, you could use that to determine if the phone is really drawing current when it's supposed to be charging.

Let us know and we'll take it from there.

@mayer Yeah, but you have been a killer these last few days. You must be exhausted! I wish I could help more and I try to do what I can to help but I don't like answering stuff I don't feel proficient in.

You can help. You're much better at evaluating answers on phones and voting on them than I am. I large part of what I do is just that, voting. Without votes people don't get affirmed and lose interest in answers. Few of us are totally self motivated. Most need an "at - a - boy".
