Hey,
I opened my iPhone 5 and replaced the battery with a new one and removed dust from the camera.
Everything went fine but the phone just won’t turn on at all. It’s stuck at the battery logo.
I tested the battery in another iPhone 5 and it worked immediately.
I also tested the “damaged” iPhone with another battery and it wouldn’t work.
Ideas?

The iPhone 5 is prone to "pry damage" when replacing the battery. Visually inspect the logic board, preferably with magnification, along the edge next to the battery to see if there are any missing components.
There are a lot of questions on this subject on this forum as well as many videos and tutorials online. Should this be the issue, it requires a micro-soldering repair however in the case of an iPhone 5, it's probably not cost effective to do this kind of repair unless you need to extract te data from the phone.

Could be a problem with the IC chip (sometimes also referred to as the U2 chip) . You can probably use a charged battery but once it goes red/out it is toast, right?

No the Battery is charged. I tried it in another phone but with this one nothing happens...
Have you tried unplugging all other connectors to see if this helps the situation?
Unplug front camera, back camera, charging port one by one and let me know the results.
If this doesn't help I fear it's going to be the IC chip or a motherboard issue elsewhere. A lot of the battery handling is made possible by numerous elements on the motherboard itself :/
Fingers crossed that it's one of the flexes/connectors
