Won't Power on, Replaced battery still won't connect.

Hey guys, I have an iPhone 7 Plus that I did a battery replacement on. Problem: It wouldn't turn on so I replaced a battery thinking the battery blew. Turns out no and I have a customer that really is counting on me to have the phone turn back on. Any ideas? I was thinking lighting connector or the worst could be bad logic board?

That's the logical approach...battery first, dock second and logic board third. Did the customer give you anything about the history of what happened prior to the failure (cheap chargers, drop, water etc)?

Otherwise, you will have to troubleshoot it yourself. Try a new Dock and if that doesn't work, start with a good visual inspection of the board, particularly around the battery connector. If that looks good, then you will have to start probing the voltage rails, if you are so inclined.

I would call the customer first to learn more before spending too much time if you don't have the tools or experience to troubleshoot at the board level.

Let me know by commenting on the answer if you want some pointers for board level troubleshooting.

Well tested the dock and was able to connect to the battery which came with a volt charge of 0. Bad battery?

At 0V, the battery is certainly fully depleted. Wether it can be charged or hold a charge, the only way to know is to try and charge it. Do you have a constant current power supply? You could use that to try and charge the battery (at your risks!). There's an EEVBLOG video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6mKd5_-...) on that. Always be careful and don't leave anything unattended when working with Li-ion batteries.

I just have a nagging feeling that you have a logic board issue. You didn't get back to me about contacting the customer and asking about cheap chargers.

Sorry for the late delay. I was able to talk with my customer as it was an original charger. What I know it that it just shut off and when she went to go plug it in it wouldn't charge. However there is extensive damage to the display assembly, including exposure to the internal workings of the phone. I did try to charge it with an OEM Apple Charger but has not powered on.
