iPhone Randomly shutdowns after battery replacement.

Hello,

I replaced my iPhone battery at a third-party service center, and since then the phone randomly shutdowns at any percentage (100%, 80%, 50%, 20%), It once shutdown when plugged in to the charger!.

It shutdown suddenly(suddenly goes black) and also won't turn on again unless plugged to the charger.

I returned to the service center and they had no clue but they did replace my battery with a new one once more. The battery loadcycles are 1, and it's wear level is 0%.

Also the date and clock are preserved after turning the device on again(they don't reset).

What could be the cause of this ?

It sounds to me like a poor quality battery was installed the first time you went to the repair shop. That is not uncommon as there are a lot of poor quality batteries on the market.

Does the most recent replacement battery do this too? If so, then you might have a problem with the charging circuit on your logic board. Let us know so we can give you more guidance.

P.S. Apple has a replacement program for the iPhone 6S and "unexpected shutdowns". You could check to see if your phone is eligible but you would have to ask the repair shop to put back your original battery.

Yes, The new battery does this too, can you elaborate more on "might have a problem with the charging circuit on your logic board" ?, The phone charges normally though.

Unless this shop has a poor batch of batteries, then your issues are somewhere on the logic board. I can only guess based on the information you have given. It could be caused by issues on the gas gauge line, the Tristar chip or anywhere else in the charging circuit. Ultimately, someone has to probe the phone to get a proper understanding. Other things that could also contribute to charging issues are cheap quality (non-original Apple) charging bricks or Lightning cables, drops, impacts, or water.

Normally, the first thing to try is a known-good battery and then go from there.

Dear Minho

I am facing this same issue with my iPhone 7 Plus after battery change at apple authorised store and they are claiming Logic board cannot go faulty because of battery installation can you help me prove that this can happen with battery change as you have mentioned above
