Help needed putting Instax Mini 8 back together! SOLVED!

UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED :)

So since posting my question below I have found the answer to where this piece goes. It's fits in behind where the strap holes are when the casing is on.

**********************

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help. I followed a break down tutorial to fix a camera I'd been given as faulty but there's one part which dropped out when I first opened it and I'm not entirely sure where it should go. I can't seem to find any guides which show you how to put them back together.

The piece is a small with a groove and a hole set off to one side.

Hopefully you can see the piece in the image attached.

I would really appreciate any advice.

Thank you in advance.

Update (05/13/2017)

I finally managed to find out where this piece is from, it slides in behind where the strap holes are on the casing!

I know this is an old post but I have exactly the same problem and I don’t know where exactly you mean! Could you please maybe post a photo?

Hi @nictakespics ,

First, unfortunately your image link doesn't work.

Here is a link to the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 guides for the the camera. They show how to dis-assemble the camera so theoretically reassembly should just be a reversal of the procedure. Hopefully you can spot the loose part in the images shown in the guide(s).

Hopefully this is of some help.

Update (04/30/2017)

Hi @nictakespics ,

I'm with you on this one. I can't make out where it belongs either.

The only thing that might look like it and I won't be surprised if this is totally wrong is if it belongs in the film compartment cover. Here is an image of where I mean. It is not a good view of it but it should be one place where there is a hole of about the same size. The image is taken from Step 2 of the Camera Shell Replacement guide.

Just tell me if it is wrong and I'll remove it from this answer so as to not confuse other people in the future.

Hi @jayeff

Thank you for your reply. I have followed all the guides but none show this particular piece. I managed to upload the image to the original post if there's any chance you know what it could be? I'm really baffled by it.

Thank you again,

Nicola

Hi @jayeff

I'm sorry for the late reply. I've just looked at the area you've pointed out but unfortunately it doesn't appear to be from there. I'm completely confused by where it could've come from. I've studied all the images I can find and can't see anything that looks like this piece. I've noticed it in videos but none of them explain what it is.

Thank you for your help, I do appreciate it.

Nicola
