Melissa, I believe that this is a common issue. I am not sure which OS you have so I can tell you for WinXP

Connect your iPod to the computer via a USB port that comes of the mother board. Stay away from the front ports and from hubs.

Click Start

Click Control Panel

Select Printers and Other Hardware

click Scanners and Cameras

In this window yous hould see the Apple iPod icon, right click on it and select properties

Click events

At the select an event menu choose Camera Connected and then select

" Take no Action" in the actions area

Click ok this should be it. Here aresome more ideas http://discussions.apple.com/message.jsp... and here is Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 Good Luck and let us know if it helped.

iTouch users experience problems with their iTouch as a digital camera popping up. Basically, the registry details for the iTouch read the device drivers incorrectly due to changes made during the update with iTunes. This does not affect every iTouch. The easiest way to fix this issue is to open the Device Manager. Right click on My Computer on your desktop, click Manage and then on Device Manager. You can also open it by using the Run feature in your Start Menu and typing in "devmgmt.msc" into the box. From here, you have to find your iPod, normally it would show up on its own but since your computer sees it as a digital camera, it will be under that listing.

You have to update the device drivers. In order to do this, click on Update Driver Software. Then, choose Browse My Computer for Driver Software. Once opened, you want to look in the following folder: Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. Once the update is complete, you want to unplug your iTouch. Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Your computer should now recognize your iTouch as an iPod instead of a digital camera.

If you leave this problem unfixed, and you computer continues to view your iTouch as digital camera you will not have access to the device. It will not show up in iTunes, although a similar driver issue may allow you access to the iTouch as a hard drive instead. This means you cannot sync music, videos and other media to it. Taking the time to correct this issue is the only way to rectify your iTouch as digital camera on your system. You basically have no access to your iTouch whatsoever.

Okay hope this helps. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa... and http://www.tuaw.com/2007/09/21/ipod-touc... for more info. Good Luck and let us know how it is going....
