Wont start after lcd replacement

I replaced the LCD screen on my iphone 7 plus and now it won't start up, checking the voltage on the battery shows 3.7 volts, is it possible the battery is too drained or is there likely something else at fault?

I tried connecting it to iTunes and didn't see anything happen so I unplugged it and put it on the charger, 20 minutes later I go back to my computer and it says my iphone cannot be accessed because it has a passcode.

So iTunes recognized it, but it didn't prompt me until after it had been disconnected.

Also, tried plugging it in again for 10 minutes after opening it up and saw no message from iTunes.

You've purchased a poor quality display, the phone won't recognize it. Apparently Apple is getting a bit more finnicky with their acceptance of copies. That or you just straight up got a bunk display. I would return it, get your money back, get a good quality one. I think ....yeppers

Is there a way to easily determine between a damaged ribbon cable and a bad screen? I don't remember the last time I had a damaged cable but I know when I started I did that regularly. I can't see any damage on anything, except maybe the home button cable, but I figure even if that was damaged it would still start.

Yeah, even if the there was a problem with the home button it would start. We ruled that out. The difference between a bad display and a bad cable? You mean the cable on the display? No
