iPhone 5s Home Button works but doesn't click properly

I just replaced the screen on my iPhone 5s, Screen works fine however, the Home Button isn't clicking properly. It works but its not making that clicking noise and it feels different. Its not the way its seated in the chassis, (I know this because I have the same problem even with the the front assembly disconnected from the frame). I'm not sure what the issue is here or how to fix it. Please help!

Here is a perfect fix for you after doing a screen replacement. Loosening the screws is NOT always the best solution as the screws will easily back out and come off over time. The best solution is:

Completely take off the home button bracket and physically bend the bracket out wards slightly. Install the bracket back and screw the screws all the way, nice and tight. You may need to do this a few times to get the perfect press of the home button but eventually, you will. Will not take to many tries either. Most of the screens have different thicknesses and can cause the home button to not work sometimes. Do this and it'll fix your device right up with no more issues at all.

Good answer. I do this a lot with iPhone 5 and 6 series screen replacements. I rather aim for closest to original feeling on the home button clickyness.

If it is working then there is no reason to fix it will not cause anymore damage . If needs repaired you will have to take it to a micro-solder professional.

Thanks for the response, I feel like there is a reason to fix it because although it does function, it doesn't quite work properly. it takes more force than normal to activate the button.

Found a reasonable solution by loosening the screws holding down the Home Button bracket. It's still not quite the same but it's better than it was before at least. Cheers for your help. :)

I've seen this before where people diy they screw the home button plate on backwards.

I would suggest rotate it and see if that solves your issue.

It was definitely not a case of this, I made sure it was the correct was around. Also this wasn't my first repair.
