Everything works except the display even the touch works

I bought my brothers Nexus 7 and two days later accidentally dropped it.

When I picked it up, everything worked except the display even the touch worked but not the display.

I have tried with every "black screen" method but none of them has worked and I think this is perhaps quite different from the "black screen" problems. I haven't found someone else with the same problem and I do not wish to send it to a repair shop.

I had the same problem. My screen would show snow, and freeze and finally went blank but the apps were still working. This was probably caused by dropping mine as well. Mine landed on the its back

I fixed mine by removing the back cover (see ifixit's tear down for how to) I've got fingernails and did without the spudger.

Look for a narrow ribbon cable (goldish) 1/3 from the bottom as seen in ifixit's pictures. The connector on the right of the cable is a push on connector. Try pushing it back in, I could feel mine go back in. This fixed my screen.
