The Lock/Power Button Is Constantly Active

Pressing the lock button doesn't actually do anything.

From time to time, it brings up the power off/restart menu.

It literally cannot turn off as long as it has battery power without removing the battery and keeping it out.

I've tried rebooting but that's changed nothing. Any ideas?
