I can't disable the lock screen!

I set a PIN lock on my phone while it was charging at work and now I can't disable the PIN and change it back to SWIPE to unlock it or disable the lock screen at all. I've gone into my Security settings and cleared the credentials but I'm still unable to fix it.

Did you ever figure out how to disable?

- de

No, I haven't. :(

I'm still stuck with the Pattern Lock.

- de

I have the same problem..tried everything....nothing works..

- de

What the error you get when trying to disable it ?

- de

The options for "No Screen Lock" and for "Swipe" are grayed out and say: Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.

Ya, that happened to me. I erased credentials, which works for some people but not me. I did a factory reset and was redoing settings on my phone. I found out there was an option when you are first setting up your phone to have your phone have to have a pin or password. So you have to do a factory reset and disable this at the beginning

I remember that in the set up when I first got my phone. I always disable that feature upon setup so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue in my case.

You could try factory resetting your mobile device.

Clearing the credentials or permissions won't erase your phone. A factory reset will definitely erase EVERYTHING from your phone, it'll be back to the state it was when you first bought it.

if I do the factory reset will it go back to "swipe"?? cause I already did the credential remove but it doesn't work . The options for "No Screen Lock" and for "Swipe" are still grayed out and say: Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.

I did a "device reset"...NOT a "factory data reset" on my Alcatel One touch Idol 3 & all my data, media...etc. were kept intact...and the lock screen options were back to normal. I finally got the swipe option back!

- de

Correction....the option for "none" in screen lock is still not available...it stays on "swipe" with the options for pin, pattern, or password. And with device reset...it changes your wallpaper to factory & other settings to factory, such as ringtones, accessibility options...etc.

I put a password on my Alcatel tablet and haven't used it in so long, I forgot the password, now I can't unlock it.

On my alcatel idol4 there is no "device reset", this lock screen is really upsetting. Any progress without reset to factory ?

Alcatel has a built in security setup that disables the swipe lock screen option after removed if a account has been linked to the phone. Follow these steps to reset lock screen back to swipe without factory reset. First, Back up all account information to the linked google account. Second, Remove account from phone. Third, got to Settings>Security and remove all settings that's been checked. Last, Clear credentials and your done. Now go to Settings>lock screen and the option will be opened.

Yes I was almost did that but I really need to back up everything. Plus I will maybe lose messages. I am so !#^&@@ I did the lock screen, now is so nerve wrecking to unlock the screen every time. Another solution would be to connect to a BT device who after being added as a trusted device, the screen stays unlocked as long as the BT device is in range.

When you go into settings go to security and then scroll down to trust agents, take off Google smart lock and then you can take off your lock screen, I have the same phone and the same problem but I just figured it out and did it and it worked. Hope this helps

Nope, it doesnt work but thnks ! My only option I think is the previous reply from Tanner ! My Idol is 6055A ...

After you cleared credentials did you go to trust agents? It's a security program that is on your phone that's active. Another way you can find out is plugging your phone to a computer and go into screen locks, it will tell you everything that is attached to it, as in programs or apps that can access or keep it locked.

Nope doesnt work. I dont know what to find with the computer linked on my cell.

- de

I can't get into phone at all to clear anything because I don't know code. How do I get there? Back to reset?
