Samsung HD TV Will Not Connect To Cable Box

We just bought a new Samsung HD Smart TV? Took forever to hook up to our Xfinity Box. Yesterday lost stations on that TV. Xfinity said the box was bad and we had to get a new cable box. We are on the 2nd one today and can not get it to connect to the TV. Says no signal.

HELP! It worked on another TV in the house but not this new TV. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance . FRUSTRATED!

What model is this TV? all you are connecting is the Xfinity box?

Yes. We are supposed to get a new box today. We will see if it works. I do not have the model number with me right now.

How have you connected the TV to the box with the antenna cable, HDMI cable, scart cable or component?

Have you used the cycle throught the source button on the TV to see if it finds the box on any of these?

We got the new box. Tried it with the antenna cable and HDMI cable. Neither worked.

We moved the TV into another room and it will hook up to the box just fine. But not in the den.

The cable in the DEN is run from the attic to basement and up through the floor (not a jack). On this cable line is a splitter in the basement which the other cable goes to the bedroom. The TV in the bedroom is working fine.

We see nothing wrong with the cable coming to the den. We have also hooked another TV up in the den to the new box ..it does not work either .

However, we can bring one of our old smaller boxes into the den and it works with the smaller TV but will not work with the new TV.

NOTE: Cable Antenna is not listed as a source on the new TV.

Hi, Is your smaller box or smaller TV capable of given you a signal level/ quality reading? Usually in TVs and boxes there is a menu item that allows you to check signal level and quality. It may be that the splitter is faulty and that the level or quality of the signal is too low for the new box or the TV.

Also what is the model number of the new box and the new TV?

We had the same problem and our cable guy figured it out for us…the newer Samsung TVs require a 4DK hdmi canoe, or hdmi 2. He hooked it up and we now have everything. The salesman should have told us when we purchased it!

Hi Tammy, okay...I've seen the responses with all kinds of needless questions so I will make this really easy!

1/. Just plug in the HDMI plug you got from cable box to HDMI port to TV... Use the HDMI 1 port on TV please for this step. After you plugged in both sides of the HDMI to its proper places then plug in box electrical wire to get power! Before turning on cable box turn on the TV and use the remote to get to the setting of the TV where u can see which channel line u are needing to use to get reception feed which should be HDMI 1.

Now once this is done turn on cable box... and wait till it goes through its setup! It would also be a good thing to make sure that the cable wire is in the right place for me its the back center of my box but for u it can be on the far left because there are two places on the xfinity box u can screw the cable two which could be the simple problem... as the TV and Box are both on try screwing on to either and give a few seconds for each to see if you get picture it should eventually work try the far left plug first though! And good luck!

Also, for future reference all you have to say is the TV type like Samsung KS8000 or 85000 or SUHD ...like that its on the box. I will further pull up the setting and control specs to see if u need further help!

Please let me know if this worked as I am standing by!

Every time we do this we get a box on TV that says "something went wrong" there is an issue with your connections. Samsung 6300 UHD TV is what is on the box

The TV and the box connect fine in my other room. Where there is a cable run to an outlet. The cable in this room den is run up through the floor and comes off a line that has a splitter. We have changed the splitter on the line and no difference.

Okay sorry didn't know if u guys were still there! Did you try connecting this tv to any other box like switch it out cause if u didn't u should and if u did and it worked then its the box itself! Let me know if using/swapping the box out worked

Weird, when just used the HDMI cable the pic wasn’t that good. So I also plug in my coax cable also. Now I’m not having ANY bad pics. It comes in really clear. (USA, Xfinity).

We had Comcast Xfinity technician install our service: tv cable box and wifi router. Everything worked well day one. Day two, no tv channels. Called Comcast and Kelly tried to reboot cable box remotely, but unsuccessfully. She scheduled an appointment for a technician to come to our home, and suggested using Xfinity streaming app (free) to watch tv over Internet. Before I could download the app, I had to manually set up the wireless connection from my Samsung tv to my Xfinity wifi router (SSID and password) using my Samsung remote. After doing so, magically, my tv channels reappeared. Everything working fine now.
