La Nintendo 2DS es una consola portátil desarrollada como una versión sencilla del modelo 3DS con prácticamente el mismo hardware, pero sin la función 3D de la pantalla superior.

Preguntas 205 Ver todo

2DS is on, backlight working, no picture.

As in title, I turn on my 2DS, the blue indicator light turns on, then the backlight for the screens come on, but the screens stay black. This started a couple weeks back, and before it started happening, I noticed some tearing and freezing in the bottom screen when I'd play a game. If I'm lucky, I can wait around 5-10 minutes after turning on the system, and the screens will start working, but the bottom screen tearing is worse than it's ever been.

I have sound, and I still have control, as I can hear when I move around on the main menu, and can hear when I launch a game, just can't see it.

I think I may have fixed it. I followed this guide (Reemplazo de Pantalla Nintendo 2DS) to get access to the screen, detached and reattached all the ribbon cable connections, put it back together and the screen came on with no trouble. Gonna monitor it though to make sure it's fixed, but at the moment, it seems to be okay. I'll post in a week, or if it starts having trouble again.

Welp, after just a couple days, the problem returned. I really don't want to crack it open again unless I got a solution, fear the screws won't take much more, as I have opened the 2ds four or five times now, and each time seems to strip the cheap screws a bit no matter how careful I am. Fortunately, the tearing in the screen seems to have resolved, so now I just got the issue of black screens when I turn it on. When I opened it up the last time, I noticed that the screens and nothing inside had any obvious damage. I'm thinking maybe faulty ribbon cables. Sadly, before I even cracked it open the first time, the warrenty had expired, and if I was gonna pay Nintendo $60 to fix it, I'd just drop a bit more money and get a new one off Amazon. Anyway, that's the update, any advice would be great. Thanks!

Ribbons sounds like a good shout. It the screens aren't working, a Nintendo repair might be your best option, as from what I remember any purchases you made on the estore are tied to the console, not your account, and if Ninty repair it they can transfer your purchases.
