Why won't my iPod turn on? Replaced battery but no luck.

Hello, I have a classic 120G and it won't turn on at all (plugged into computer or from battery). I thought it was an issue with the battery so I put a new battery in via the guide on this site and it still will not turn on. Could this be an issue with a power switch or a short somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
