How to delete apps we do not want?

When we go to apps and click on uninstall it seems to remove them and the memory increases.

Then when we shut down and boot up again they all come back and take up memory.

I do not want these apps.

How can we delete them forever?

Hi @tmckinney

Are you asking about the apps that came pre-installed with the tablet?

If so, you will have to root your tablet to uninstall them permanently. Unfortunately I cannot find any information online on how to root your particular tablet.

This link may be of some interest to you, if the tablet's OS is Android KitKat. If it is Lollipop, Jellybean or below you need to root your tablet as this doesn't work for those OSs. It details how to block bloatware on Android devices by using a debloater tool developed by XDA Developers.

Hopefully this is of some help.

Hi @tmckinney ,

If you can find out what cpu you have in your tablet e.g. alwinner, cube, RK3368 etc etc then this link has loads of info which may be of interest. Scroll down to find tablet support You might have to register (free) to get the full benefit of searching etc.

Used the info on this site to fix a supposedly "bricked" Arnova tab. When you register (to be able to post questions) they are very helpful

Hi @tmckinney

You may be able to force stop the apps but this will only be good as long as you don't restart the tablet again. then you have to do it again

Go to Settings > Apps > swipe screen L-R or R-L until you see "All" written on the top of the screen (there will be "downloaded", "running" written as well as another that I have forgotten for the moment. Scroll down to find the offending apps they are in alphabetical order, tap to enter and the tap the force stop option.

That is strange... Anyways, you should get an app called ES file explorer. From ES, you can unistall the apps permanently. ES is free from the play store, so just type it in the search bar and it will pop up. I hope this helps!

I tried ES but the apps are in the system files and the tablet must be rooted.

Thanks

It that case, @jayeff is right. You must root to remove. However, rooting is not recommended because it will expose your device to malware. There are other problems with rooting too. Don't forget you can disable these apps too. That will prevent them from showing up under the apps list.

- de

Sorry, but I have not found any way to DISABLE these apps. Can you suggest one?

- de

Go to system settings, apps, select an app, then click disable where uninstall would normally be.

- de

Disable mode is not available. It is there but you cannot disable any system app. Thanks
