Home button wont work..need disconnect flex to turn on phone
Hi!
Recently my iphone started to giving me headaches....Followed by broken ear speaker (which i replaced ) came broken mic-one for phone calls. I tried to clean ear mesh but nothing helped. That was not all! Suddenly home button stopped working. I got alert like "unable to activate touch ID" so i tried restart my phone but that only made things much worse. Now phone keep apple looping and there was nothing i could do. So after one week if me trying to do itunes restore i keep getting 4013 error. I couldnt restore my phone even in DFU mode. So i tried disconect whole screen assembly from iphone and tired restore again and it WORKED ( i was so happy lol) but home button still didnt work. When i restored iphone i made mistake and restarted phone.....phone keep looping at logo again.....I remembered that i disconnected whole screen in order to restore with itunes, and then i tried to turn on phone the same way. IT worked! i can turn on iphone if i disconect flex for home button ( after phone is on i can plug it in back ). Anyone ever had or heard of same problem ? Cause i think home button must worked when i setted up iphone in dfu mode and when i tried to set in recoverY mode when you keep pressing home button was sussesfull to. I think my home button wont work only in IOS. Any suggestions ?
Best regards, Rok

hi Ben!
About mic: Yeah my mic still doesnt work and like you said i got problems with charging port mic then. (i will just replace port then ).
About Home button: I disconnected flex located near display flex ( so i removed screen from housing (i disconnected all three components)). And i tried to reconnect home button from flex cable at bottom just to be sure that conenction is good. So i still have no clue what to do.
I think i need to test if my home button is broken or that flex cable where home button is conencted. Any idea how to test that ?

I think the home button itself at least would be physically and internally fine.
Probably more so of an issue near the home button extension cable which is embedded into the screen display for iPhone 6s.
Does the home button function at all? E.g when you click it, it acts as a home button press.
If the home button does not work at all then I think either the home button extension cable which is part of the screen got damaged or the home button itself got shorted.
Was the battery unplugged when the screen cables were unplugged?

Yeah battery was off. What about when i mentioned that i could entered recovery mode (which u hold home button and plug USB and then keep holding till itunes recovery shows up or DFU mode when you need combination of both home and lock button)?

One other thought is to check if the home button is actually the original home button or not. I have had phones do weird things when an iPhone 6 home button is on a 6S or vise-versa.
